Mayor Johnston will address the ongoing challenges within the City and County of Denver's building department and share updates on his efforts to improve this area since his last visit. He'll also discuss initiatives to create employment opportunities for immigrants, outline his current projects, and provide a vision for Denver's future.

About our Presenter:
Michael Johnston
Mayor, City & County of Denver
Sworn in as Denver’s 46th Mayor on July 17, 2023, Mayor Mike Johnston is dedicated to making Denver a vibrant, affordable, and safe city. With a background in education as a teacher and principal, he has long championed educational equity. As a former Colorado State Senator, he was instrumental in passing key legislation such as the READ Act and Colorado’s DREAM Act, supporting literacy, educational access, and sustainability.
Born in Colorado and fluent in Spanish, Mayor Johnston lives in East Denver with his wife, Courtney, a Chief Deputy District Attorney, and their three children. His leadership focuses on addressing Denver’s challenges and ensuring a prosperous future for all.
